Major Projects

During a few recent years, CGE has completed over 300 projects on behalf of Russian and international oil companies. Quite many of them are unique as to their size.

Goals related to prospecting, exploration of oil and gas accumulations, estimation of hydrocarbon reserves and field development planning have successfully been realized not only in Russia, but also in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Ukraine, as well as in Algeria, Vietnam, Iran, People’s Republic of China and Libya, and offshore Bay of Venezuela.

Information presented below concerns only areas and fields whose owners have permitted CGE to disclose such information.


Samotlor field

Processing of well logging data: 17,182 wells
Geological 3D modeling: 47 objects
Hydrodynamic simulation modeling: 47 objects
Reserves estimation: on 26 objects

The single geologic model parameters are as follows:
  • Oil presence interval – 820 m
  • Model polygon areal extent – 4,444.05 sq. km
  • Number of oil pools - 224
  • Total number of geologic model grid cells – 635,656,440
 
The model is all realized as a single object in the DV-Geo software system, a system jointly developed by CGE and PEC Ltd.


Yety-Pur field

ЦГЭ - Еты-Пуровское месторождение

Processing and integrated interpretation of CDP data:
1,642 linear km. 2D и 588 sq. km. 3D
Processing of well logging data: 89 wells
Geological 3D modeling: 78 objects
Reserves estimation: on 78 objects

The single geologic model parameters are as follows:
  • Oil presence interval:
    Northern dome – 1,760 m, Southern dome – 2,065 m
  • Model polygon areal extent:
    Northern dome – 286.27 sq. km, Southern dome – 206.56 sq. km
  • Number of oil pools:
    Northern dome – 108, Southern dome – 60
  • Total number of geologic model grid cells:
    Northern dome - 148,745,269, Southern dome – 158,590,013
 
The model is realized as a single object in the DV-Geo software system. The seismic data and well logs have been interpreted in the DV-1 Discovery software system; the two systems are jointly developed by CGE and PEC Ltd.


Komsomol field

Processing of well logging data: 699 wells
Geological 2D and 3D modeling: 150 objects
Reserves estimation: on 155 objects

North Komsomol field
