Research-to-Practice Conference “Geological and Geophysical Studies of Petroleum Bearing Areas: Scientific and Applied Aspects (RosgeoNEFTEGAZ-2018)” was held in the Central Geophysical Expedition (Moscow, the enterprise is part of the ROSGEO state holding). Specialists of ROSGEO companies specializing in geological exploration for hydrocarbons took part in the event. Higher educational institutions, the largest oil companies - such as PJSC LUKOIL, PJSC Rosneft, LLC Gazpromneft STC, and partners of the holding displayed a keen interest in the conference.
The work of RosgeoNEFTEGAZ-2018 is based on the following sections: substantiation of prospective areas of exploration for oil and gas, new methods and techniques, as well as geological results of geophysical surveys, regional, regional-zonal, prospecting and detailing surveys at fields, comprehensive studies, and new ideas in geology and geophysics.
“We hold the conference for the first time and very much hope that it will become a traditional one”, Ildar Zakirzhanov, Managing Director of JSC CGE, said. “I confess, originally we planned that it would be a corporate one. Therefore, it’s a pleasure to realize that RosgeoNEFTEGAZ-2018 has acquired the status of not just an all-Russian conference, but became an international one. First of all, the conference is aimed at developing the potential of young specialists and scientists, as well as the unification of geologists and geophysicists from different regions.
“The glorious tradition of conference organization in the CGE has existed for many decades”, - Sergey Kostyuchenko, Deputy Director General and Director of the Department for Science and Technical Development of JSC ROSGEO said. “These are the Galperin, Kudryavtsev readings. Now, it seems, a new page opens - the conference in the field of oil and gas.”
Within the framework of RosgeoNEFTEGAZ-2018 the participants exchanged information on scientific and technical achievements in the field of geophysical surveys at petroleum bearing areas, the possibilities of the state-of-the-art technologies and their influence on the development of reproduction of the mineral and raw materials base.

ROSGEO was established by Decree No. 957 of the President of the Russian Federation dated 15 July 2011 on the basis of Tsentrgeologia, one of the oldest exploration companies in Russia. ROSGEO is a fully state-owned company.
The enterprises within the holding company operate in eight federal districts of Russia. ROSGEO has enterprises located across the country. A total of more than 1,000 fields and deposits have been discovered by the holding’s companies, including major hydrocarbon and solid mineral deposits and fields such as the Astrakhan field (2.5 trillion cubic meters of natural gas), the Tengiz field (3.1 billion tonnes of oil), the Kovykta field (1.9 trillion cubic meters of natural gas), the Sukhoi Log deposit (about 2,000 tonnes of gold), the Kursk Magnetic Anomaly, and many others.
The Central Geophysical Expedition (part of the Russian multidisciplinary geological holding ROSGEO) is a high-performance service company known far beyond the borders of the Russian Federation. Qualified research and technical potential as well as a 50-years practice in seismic and well-logging data processing and interpretation, and in building of field geological models made JSC CGE a recognized leader of digital technologies in oil and gas industry of Russia. JSC CGE adheres to the world practice standards and complies with up-to-date requirements set to service companies, and ensures high quality execution of a full set of geological/geophysical and field surveys. The company was incorporated in 1967 by the Ministry of Oil Industry of the USSR as a scientific and production center predestined to become the leader of geophysics conversion to digital data acquisition and processing.
