Rosgeo’s delegation participated in the 20th scientific-practical conference called “Geomodel 2018” regarding the geological exploration and development of oil and gas fields. The event was arranged by the European Association of geoscientists and engineers (EAGE) with the support of AO Rosgeo’s title partner. The event was traditionally held from Sept. 10 to Sept. 14 in the city of Gelendzhik.
Alexey Solovyov, the General Director of AO Yuzhmorgeologiya (city of Gelendzhik, the company is a part of Rosgeo parent company) welcomed the participants at the opening of the conference. He conveyed congratulations to the participants of the conference on behalf of Roman Panov, the General Director of AO Rosgeo, and noted the significance of such events for the development of geological exploration technologies in Russia and experience exchange between the leading companies of the field.
Alexander Rudakov, the Head of YuMGseys geophysical expedition, made a presentation at the planetary session. He spoke about the theory and practice of getting high quality seismic data in transition zones of the Russian Federation.
“The technologies of seismic land and marine exploration works (performed at the depth of 20-30 meters and more) are obvious and developed enough,” he noted. “However, the research in transition zones requires a special approach. Such areas are coastal moor, flooded parts of land, bench lands, river delta, open shallow banks, wide tidal flats, littoral zones, shallow water areas close to a coast, the water depth of which is less than 10-15 m. It is impossible to perform the work with typical floating facilities as carriers of seismic equipment and apply typical methods of marine seismic exploration. Liman-type zone is one of the most difficult sites for the work performance. Actually, in Russia there are few companies with the work experience in such areas. Rosgeo is an absolute leader here. The company developed recommendations on used seismic exploration equipment, carried out a review of vehicles to perform works in different conditions, presented technological solutions allowing to carry out seamless geological exploration works with the high-quality data obtained during a short field period in the conditions where it first seems impossible to get through.”
The audience highly appreciated the presented information and agreed that it was necessary to set up the work in such areas.
Alexey Chaplygin, the Head Specialist of the Seismic Data Processing Department of АО Tsentralnaya geophizicheskaya expedistiya (city of Moscow), which is another subsidiary of the parent company, presented the results of amplitude leveling of surveys upon co-operative MOGT 3D seismic data processing obtained in different field seasons. Within the framework of the project, the CGI team had a goal to unite ten seismic MOGT 3D surveys made with different parameters of field surveying systems. The specialists developed and successfully applied the amplitude restoration method compensating dynamic differences of surveys. The obtained results allowed to effectively compensate amplitude abnormalities and carry out dynamic interpretation of super cube.
At the session called “Research of non-anticlinal traps of hydrocarbon”, Marina Denisova, a 1st category specialist of Geological Department of AO TsGE, spoke in details about the peculiarities of geological structure of the Achimovsky mass of Messoyakhsky deposits according to the seismic exploration data of MOGT 3D and geophysical well survey. When all seismic MOGT 3D surveys, drilling results and core data were united into one unique “Supercube” Project, it allowed to significantly specify the geological structure of a site and perform single consistent correlation of bore logs, substantiate pool boundaries and leads. Currently, based on the performed constructions, the customer is executing successful drilling of test pits.
